About the Saint Andrew’s Scholarship

The Saint Andrews Scholarship provides funding for one year of graduate study in Scotland for graduating seniors with some Scottish descent. If you are of Scottish descent and are interested in going to Scotland for one year of graduate study, consider applying to the Saint Andrew’s Society scholarship program. The Saint Andrew’s Society of New York has provided over 150 scholarships to promote cultural interchange and goodwill between Scotland and the United States since 1956; the Society brings Scottish graduate students to study in the US and Scottish-American students to study in Scotland.

The Saint Andrew’s Scholarship application process:

Review the information on the scholarship website to determine your eligibility.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, start researching graduate programs in Scotland that match your academic and career goals. Finalists are required to submit proof of their application to the selected graduate program.

Contact CFSA and your mentor(s) to discuss your interest and plans to apply

Applications packets can be obtained from the CFSA office – 306 Bowne Hall.

SU nominates the most outstanding applicant from the pool of internal applicants and submits their application to the St. Andrew’s society.

The internal application deadline is in October.
