U.S. Department of Transportation Summer Transportation Internship for Diverse Groups

About the U.S. Department of Transportation Summer Transportation Internship for Diverse Groups

The U.S. Department of Transportation Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG) is a 10-week summer program offering paid internships to students with interests in transportation and public service. Successful applicants receive a stipend of either $4,000 (undergraduate students) or $5,000 (graduate and law students), fully-furnished housing, and roundtrip airfare. The program is an opportunity to receive public service experience while learning about the challenges of the U.S. transportation infrastructure. Interns will work either at the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. or one of the Department’s regional offices around the country.

This program is part of the Department of Transportation’s efforts to increase diverse representation in its workforce. Students from minority populations are encouraged to apply.
